In this childminding setting it is my policy to provide a healthy and safe environment for all the children in my care. At all times I will implement all aspects of health and safety when caring for all children.

I will ensure the children learn the importance of being healthy and provide a good role model for the children. The children will learn the importance of washing hands before and after eating or toileting, I will take measures to protect the children from cross infection by wearing gloves and an apron when changing nappies.

The children will have opportunities to prepare and make their own food, taking into account good food and hygiene. This also prepares them and teaches life skills, learning about different fruit and vegetables.

The children have access to free flowing water and milk though out the day.

I hold an up to date food hygiene certificate, I hold an up to date first aid certificate and fully stocked first aid kit.

Medicine will only be administered to a child on parents request and will be stored appropriately. All appropriate documentation will be completed by me the registered childminder and filed away correctly.
